I injured myself on my final jump, my back is in constant pain. My life drastically went to shit and to a very dark place 07'-08', these are the dates for my deployment to Afghanistan. What I am about to say is my exp and not fact for everyone. Joining the military was one of the worst mistakes of my life, do not get me wrong, I learned more in 6 years in than I could 15+ years outside but this trade off for the pain I go through everyday is not balanced in my favor. Part of me died in Afghanistan and I cannot figure out how to fix it. I more than anything wish I had never deployed. I (as I already said) was not infantry, I did not have to kill anyone with my own hands but I changed. I had some stuff happen b/w a mortar landing right beside me to having people alive one day and then the next never to be seen again (lucky munitions from the opposite side are shit and bought cheap or I would not be here today) that will no matter what repairing I do change me forever. I recently made a move from KS to TX about 8 months ago and it was something I needed so bad, to put it in context for the 2~ish years I lived alone in Topeka I can count the hours I spent out of my apartment.
