This was about 5 months ago and there has been no resolution. Shortly after that meeting one of our managers issued new bonus structures for each of our projects spelling out what numbers we needed to hit in order to qualify for a bonus. As the newest person on staff, I received a structure for my one very basic project. This document had the approval of some steering committee. As this situation has dragged on, one of my coworkers had asked our manager that if the bonuses go away due to the giant umbrella corporation, what is she going to do "to make this right with us. " This person has been disciplined for this comment, supposedly for causing low morale. Another coworker has gone up the chain and, due to his complaining, one of the upper level administrators is coming to our office to speak with us one on one regarding the bonuses. I find this suspicious. I don't have a ton of skin in this game as I am not owed anything at the moment but I have a document stating what bonus I can expect to make in the future if I were to hit certain goals.

I have a situation with which I could use some advice. I was hired at my current job about 8 months ago and in the process of negotiating the move from one department at this company to another, my compensation changed from hourly (with overtime if I work more than 40 hours) to salary at the same rate I got in the hourly position. I tried to negotiate something higher because I was routinely getting overtime at the previous job and this would mean I would be taking home less. At that time I was told there is a bonus structure in place for this new position based on enrollment goals. I took the offer. Several months in, I found out that my coworkers in this new position have been owed bonuses that they have earned for over 6 months to the tune of thousands of dollars and the giant umbrella corporation that owns our company has been unresponsive in trying to resolve the situation. A few months in, there was a meeting I attended where the highest level administrator in our office told us the bonuses would be paid and it was just a glitch of some kind blah blah blah.

Do I have any standing to argue with them that this is a contract and they cannot just void this agreement? I am 100% certain that they will say 'no more bonuses going forward. ' I understand they have the right to do this for any upcoming projects, but can they do this for this one project I am actively working on? What is the best way to bring this up in these one on one meetings? I will be facing a panel of three people (two of whom have been described to me by a former manager as "snakes" and "evil") and the other being my current manager. As I am new-ish I don't want to seem like a problem, but I do not want to roll over either. I feel like I was sort of mislead when I accepted the job offer and would likely have fought harder for a higher base rate knowing the bonuses would just go away. Does anyone have any advice on how to handle this whole thing? It feels like the giant umbrella corporation is slowly whittling away all sorts of perks we used to enjoy and I feel like I need to take a stand.
